I. POLICY
Degrees or certificates may be awarded to students who die or are near death
due to illness or accident while currently enrolled and progressing
satisfactorily toward the completion of a certificate or degree program. The
student must have completed a minimum of credit equaling seventy-five percent
(75%) of the total required for that degree or certificate.
II. PROCEDURE
A. Candidates eligible for such degrees must have completed a minimum of credit equaling seventy-five percent (75%) of the minimum total
required.
Bachelor Degree: 137 hours (75% of the 183 total required)
Associate Degree: 70 hours (75% of the 93 total required)
B. Such candidates for Bachelor Degrees must have completed a minimum of
upper-division credit hours equaling seventy-five percent (75%) of the
minimum required.
Upper Division Hours: 45 hours (75% of the 60 minimum required)
C. Candidates must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of a 2.0.
D. The type of degree awarded (B.S./B.A. or A.S./A.A.) will be based on the
General Education program orientation.
E. Requests for such degrees shall be directed to the dean of Student
Administrative Services who will prepare documentation for the
Admissions, Credits and Graduation Committee.
F. All degree requests must be approved by the Admissions, Credits and Graduation Committee.
G. Exceptions to these criteria must be approved by the same Committee.
H. Such degree or certificate shall be noted appropriately in the Commencement program.
