I. POLICY
A. A Faculty Library Committee, appointed by the Faculty Senate, represents
the faculty in advising the librarian concerning operation of the
Library and the division of the book budget. Each dean or department
chair is responsible to submit requests for Library materials to the
librarian. Each request is to be submitted on regular Library order
cards.
B. All items purchased from Library funds are housed in the Library.
Faculty members are permitted to buy specialized materials with
departmental funds, but they must be acquired through the Library.
II. PROCEDURE
A. Fill out a regular purchase requisition.
B. Have the requisition signed by the department chair, then send it to the
Purchasing Department for fund approval.
C. If the item is approved for purchase, the requisition will be sent
immediately to the Library.
D. If the librarian feels that the items requested would serve the institution best by becoming Library property, the person making the request will be notified to this effect and the book will be added to the Library's collection. The individual may check the item out for use through regular circulation procedures.
