MINOR / TEACHING MINOR / BIS EMPHASIS
- » Grade Requirements: A grade of "C" or better in courses used toward
the Minor or BIS emphasis (a grade of "C-" is not acceptable).

PSY SS1010).

Course Requirements for Minor
Psychology Course Required
- PSY SS1010 Introductory Psychology (3)
Elective Courses (minimum 15 credit hours)
Refer to the Psychology Courses Table under the Department of Psychology.
May be taken from any of the courses in the Core General Courses, Core
Content Courses, Elective Groups A or B. However, only one course from
Electives Group B will be allowed to apply toward the minor.
Course Requirements for Teaching Minor

- PSY 4000 Advanced General Psychology (3)
Elective Courses (minimum 12 credit hours)
Refer to the Psychology Courses Table under the Department of Psychology.
A minimum
of 6 credit hours must come from the Core Courses and a maximum of 3 credit
hours may be taken from Group B Elective Courses.
Students who select the Psychology Teaching Minor must satisfy the Teacher Education admission and licensure requirements (see Teacher
Education Department).

** Prerequisite: PSY SS1010 and PSY 3600 or equivalent with prior
approval from the Department Chair.
Elective Courses (minimum 8 additional credit hours)
Refer to the Psychology Courses Table under the Department of Psychology.
Only one
course from Electives Group B will be allowed to apply toward the BIS. Approval
of the Department Chair is required. (Also refer to the Bachelor of Integrated Studies Program.)
