Asian Studies at Weber State offers a Minor in Asian Studies, supports the Foreign
Language Department's Japanese Minor, oversees courses in the Middle East Track, and
cooperates with the BIS Program to offer a
Bachelor's degree "BIS Asian Studies Concentration." Asian Studies courses are
offered through a number of cooperating departments including History, Political Science
and Philosophy, Geography, Foreign Language, English, Honors, Sociology and Anthropology,
Visual Arts, Health and Physical Education, and others.

- » Grade Requirements: A grade of "C" or above in each course used
toward the Asian Studies Minor (a grade of C- is not acceptable).

- » Credit Hour Requirements: Fifteen credit hours of courses must be taken from
at least four of the areas listed below.
Courses taken which are part of the student's major will not count as fulfillment of
the minor requirement.

Should other courses relating specifically to Asia or the Middle East, either of an
experimental or of a permanent nature, be added to the curriculum, these courses will be
accepted as part of the Asian Studies Minor. To be a part of the Asian Studies curriculum,
a course must have two-thirds Asian content.
