DEPARTMENTAL HONORS
Please contact the Teacher Education Department for advisement and
permission prior to enrolling in Honors courses.

- » Program Prerequisite: Enroll in the General Honors Program and complete at
least 9 credit hours of general Honors courses (see the Interdisciplinary Programs section
of this catalog).

- » Grade Requirements: Maintain an overall GPA of 3.3.

- » Credit Hour Requirements: Fill the requirements of the Elementary Education
major, of which at least 12 credit hours in the professional education sequence, education
support courses, or graduate courses must be taken for Honors credit. All 3000 level and
above courses may be considered by the student for his/her course of study.
Content in the Education courses will be different and more challenging
for Honors students than the content for regular students.
