English Major with Professional & Technical Writing Emphasis

BACHELOR'S DEGREE (BS or BA)

» Program Prerequisite: Not required.
 
» Minor: Required.
 
» Grade Requirements: A 2.0 or better in all courses required for this major in addition to an overall GPA of 2.00 (C) or higher.
 
» Credit Hour Requirements: A total of 120 credit hours is required for graduation -- a minimum of 39 of these must be valid English courses. A total of 40 upper division credit hours is required (courses numbered 3000 or above) -- a minimum of 36 must be English courses.

Advisement

English majors are required to meet with a faculty advisor at least twice annually for course and program advisement. If this requirement is not met, students may not be allowed to register for classes within their major. Admission Requirements

Declare your program of study at the English department office, Social Science 314. There are no special admission or application requirements for this program.

General Education

English majors may elect either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree as defined by this University catalog (see General Requirements).  The Bachelor of Arts degree is recommended.
